Platform History
The product iSAMS was originally written for Rugby School. Alastair Price and Greg Pakes are both Directors of iSAMS and are also both ex pupils from Rugby School.
Rugby wanted to replace their existing system and approached Price and Pakes to discuss the possibility of creating a Rugby School front-end for a new Management System using the latest web technologies that the two of them were working on at the time. After reviewing the marketplace it was agreed that none of the products available catered for Rugby’s needs so it was agreed that Price and Pakes should create a new 100% browser-based School Management Information System exclusively for Rugby School.
Warwick School invited Alastair and Greg to present to their SMT when they heard what was happening at Rugby. Warwick were very excited about being the first school to be involved after its initial start at Rugby and helped enormously in the early days with the developments of the product. Warwick School replaced their current MIS within 6 months of the original meeting.
iSAMS the product was originally created in 2003 and then iSAMS the trading company was formed in 2005 to actively market the iSAMS product to other leading Independent Schools.
Six years on and iSAMS is the preferred product for independent schools and has rapidly become an overnight success in a somewhat closed marketplace. At iSAMS, we believe that the main reason more schools choose iSAMS over any other product is the fact that it was written exclusively for independent schools by a leading independent school. Another benefit is that it has been designed around the educational needs of a school and not just the core administration. iSAMS have also focused heavily on communication and this runs throughout the system and takes communicating with staff, parents, pupils and the outside world to a completely different level.
