One of the hardest obstacles faced by any software system is its ability to
give the user access to the data in a useful format. The iSAMS system tackles this
issue by empowering the end users with reporting tools. We use Microsoft
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for all iSAMS reporting.
The majority of iSAMS modules ship with pre-defined in-built reports, which will
get you started and usually cover the needs of most clients. SSRS then
allows you to create any custom reports that you may need. Accessing your
own SSRS reports from within iSAMS is very simple too. We have designed
our own SSRS integration module, allowing you to create custom reports and
distribute them to the end-user through the iSAMS interface.
SSRS has a rich mixture of output formats, targeting all the familiar products:
- Microsoft Word (SSRS 2008 only)
- Microsoft Excel
- Adobe PDF
- HTML (on screen display)
- Printer
- E-mail
Schools can opt to create their own reports internally or they can ask iSAMS to
create them on their behalf.
By offering schools this powerful yet simple tool - iSAMS is able to deliver custom reports that empower schools with the information that is normally buried deep
within a database, requiring the skills of a database administrator to extract.
